Which country is it please that prohibits equines been kept alone? A link would be amazing too as I am rubbish at searching online for specific things.

Sweden have had a regulation since 2009 I think, the latest version of it came the 1 of March 2019, which says that "a horse should be kept so that it can see, hear, smell, and come in physical contact with other horses daily while out in their paddock and/or while in their stable. The requirement about physical contact does not apply to horses who thereby risks harming themselves and/or the other horse."

"Since horses who lives in the wild are herd living animals, a horse should preferably have company of other horses nearby. But they don't have to be in the same paddock.
If that isn't possible, a horse can have their need of social interaction met by having other herd living animals nearby. But their need of social interaction should be met."

The above applies to all horse husbandry in Sweden.
A veterinarian or approved farrier have the right to prescribe that a horse is kept or taken care of differently than the above requirements due to veterinary medicinal reasons.
