Which electric fence do you prefere to use and why


ROPE?

OR

TAPE?

I prefer the rope as it is more stronger and it doesn't sagg as much as tape

i prefer the nice thick tape as i think it is much more visable to the horse- and it doesn't sag if you put it up correctly!

I put line around the inside of a permanent pole fence and use 2cm tape if it's on it's own. Most people here use 1cm tape for the cows.

I find even when i do put tape up corectly it STILL sag's

Haven't tried rope, but I use white 20mm tape with good results!

I think rope looks nicer.

And have found it to be just as effective.

Have always used tape and never had any problems with it. Prefer tape to rope and its much thicker and more visable.

I use 40mm tape which is super visible and much more wind resistant than the thinner stuff

I knew a horse that cut his leg on the rope and it was quite nasty, i also think the tape is a lot more visable

Tape - because it will break (rather than break the horse!) if they get tangled up in it.
I HATE rope that is too low - asking for a rolling horse to get a leg over it and break it

i use the rope on top of all the permanant fencing...

but use tape when i'm spliting paddocks temporarily etc!!!

i always thought thre rope stuff was only supposed to be used against pernament fencing because it can be dangerous if horse gets tangled up etc rather than tape that just snaps
