Which dressage girth to get. What are the main considerations ??

My dilemma is this...........
I have recently acquired my first dressage girth, and am not too comfortable at the moment tightening it up by myself when I am on-board. So for this reason, i would like one of those Kieffer neoprene girths where the buckle goes in the hole by itself. HOWEVER, this girth is not shaped (atherstone) or elastic. So I feel it will not be the most comfortable for my horse.
Ideally i want one that is synthetic so i can wash it, has elastic both ends, AND has the gadget like the Kieffer.
Any suggestions ??? Or, what should be my priority - my ease of use (and safety when tightening whilst mounted), or my horses comfort ?

I have to have an atherstone due to elbow problems, so horse comfort is more important to me (I have thorogood one, shaped, elac both ends!) If I am on my own at home I make sure it is much tighter than I normally would so I dont have to do it again once on, I can get away with it as horse doesnt mind.

At shows I normally smile and ask a helpful person or steward to do it for me.

However due to small size of horse his drsg girth comes up quite high anyway so not very beyond reach if I had to
 
Wow. Although they are leather and dont have elastic. But no elastic is better than elastic at one end only anyway.

They are very wide, which is much better for the horse too.
 
My horse is much happier if the girth is made curved. Also lots of people get them too short, and the buckles hit their elbow if they are good movers in front, so I get the longest girth I can fit on the saddle and still do up!
 
I swear by the Albion leather dressage girths, they are shaped, nice and wide to spread the pressure and easy to do up.

I steer well clear of girths with elastic one end, hideous things.
 
Either Albion for a big budget, or the cheaper Wintec girths. The wintec ones are great, they dont rub, and are very soft. I think they are very similar to the kieffer, so tbh I would just stick with the Kieffer one if you like the "gadget" on them.
 
I have the Keiffer one and its very soft and moves so I doubt it would impede any action. The gadget on it is fab if you need to tighten you girth when on board. Also you just put it in washing machine every now and then and if,like the other day, you ride in the rain and it gets muddy just hose it off before you put it away.
