Does anyone have a 'technique' to know which end to open a feed bag ... I start one end trying to find the right bit to pull then the other end and then finally loose my cool

Much easier than fiddling with the stupid crap string. Either that or use your teeth if there is no knife available.

What I like about this forum is that you can post really stupid questions and most people will try and help. If you don't like, ignore.
I too want to know the answer to this question. When I was a teenager I could open feed bags with the strip no problem, but they seem to be done differently now.

For what it's worth (going back to the original question), I just yank the string hard, so the string sort of slices the top of the bag off.........................but then I'm hard and not allowed near sharp objects!!!!
