Between B & W or Aldon? Not been to Aldon as it's always on a Friday but we've got new full time employee so could get time off this year. But thinking maybe I should do B & W as I know it and it would be a fairly easy run to start with. Would be gutted if it cancels due to weather. Does Aldon run in bad weather?
Doing both is not an option due to finances

If you want a guaranteed run do Aldon - it only cancels if there is snow actually settling on the course.

B&W is not your luckiest venue either.... :g:

I'm going for Aldon as B&W doesn't run Novice, but even if it did, I know which I'd prefer to go to....
 
I'd definately prefer Aldon but they don't do Intro so i'm having to do B&W. I have ran at Aldon in ALL types of weather including freezing conditions and full on fog

It's almost unlikely that they will cancel.

I would say Aldon to. The ground is pretty much always good there, as it can get deep and muddy at B & W if it rains alot, but won't at Aldon. But will be of to B & W as sis can't get friday of so has to run there instead!!! and then of to Aldon as well!!!

I forgot that but did remember I hate driving there but at the start of the season you don't mind so much.

XC is lovely at Aldon, quite hilly, but lovely and educational at all levels. I always think of it as a really friendly event, yes I always seemed to do my dressage in horizontal wind but still one of my favourites.
 
I'm hoping to do Aldon as I think B&W will cancel. I'm lucky that I can compete on the Friday....

I've never been there before, but have been told it's nice, but if tigers_eye says it's hilly I'd better be doing some more cantering!
 
They change it a bit each year, but as far as I remember you go up the hill once in the PN, with the rest of the course being flat or rolling, in the intermediate you do it twice at different ends of the valley. Not sure about Novice.
 
It is hilly but you start at the top, it's like a bowl, you usually go around the top, down to the water along the bottom and then back up top to finish, just make sure you've done a bit of galloping up a nice hill with a pull, you'll be fine

I know, but I need to go to Dartmoor for our cantering (it's only 10 mins in the box). Sorry to be confusing

Aldon without a doubt - everything is 100% nicer than B&W. I loathe B&W for too many reasons and despite it being my closest event have sworn never to go there again.
