Which eventing boots are best?

Hi I'm looking to do some events with my horse this season and just wondered if anybody could recommend any eventing boots to protect his legs?
(Have previously done XC schooling in open front tendon boots which were fine but worried about the front of his legs over some bigger fences)

Any advice and recommendations will be appreciated please :)
 
I really get on with premier equine air cooled xc boots and think they are fab :). However people seem to find particularly with xc boots not every boot suits every horse so the most necessary requirement is ones that don't slip or rub.

I second this! I love my premier equine ones too! :D
 
Prolite are my favourites. I did have the prem equine ones but the back ones always slipped down unless heavily taped , and after a seasons use the front ones rotated a few times. Good value though

I really struggled to find my mare some XC boots - before my search began I thought she had pretty average skinny legs but apparently not - think we must have tried most boots under the sun :eek: !!

The Premier Equine air cooled XC boots are really really lovely - they are very, very lightweight, don't seem to heat the legs (at all!!) yet are obviously very protective. These were by far my favourites out of the many we tried, unfortunately the back boots tend to spin and fall right down on my horse so we can only use the fronts. The PE boots also seem better suited to horses with fine legs which may be something to bear in mind.
I also tried prolites with her - I was gutted when these didn't fit her either as they looked so good and seemed very protective. A lot of people seem to use prolites, they're not the coolest boots around but do their job very well and the people I know who use them say that they last forever and are well worth the money.
NEW boots are meant to be very good but I haven't tried them (yet!)

In the end I settled with Trizone XC boots as these seem to be the only boots that fit her hind legs and stay put. They fit her perfectly and are very lightweight and don't move once on - but due to them being so flexible I do worry that they're perhaps not as protective an other boots out there. But still v happy with them!

I personally would avoid the Dalmar XC boots after hearing so many horror stories about the strike guard shattering into the leg upon impact.
