Which Farrier.

Hi there anyone use either of these farriers Gavin Adams,Joe Rose what do you think of them.Or anyone know anything about them.

I assume you ar nr Winchester? If so, don't use Joe Rose. I don't know the other one as we moved away from there about 10yrs ago. We used to use Mark Phillips who was great.

Hi why do you say not to use Joe Rose have you had a bad experience with him.

Yes, i would call him beating my horse with a rasp till I dragged him off a 'bad experience'. Took my horse nearly 2 yrs to trust another farrier!

You don't say where you are? Is Joe Rose any relation of Mark Rose, based in Newmarket?

Im in Essex and yes Joe rose is Mark Rose son.

gavin adams is good, knows his stuff. trained with one of the farriers in my area, his daughters sj to a good level. dont know aboiut the other one.

Well in that case, the Joe Rose you are on about is not the one that the previous poster mentioned. Joe and Mark are excellent farriers. They do a lot of the TB studs and top end competitions horses (like mine), as well as some of my liveries, who would be happy to admit that they are happy hackers. Good farriers, though must admit that they do sometimes let me down or change dates, which can be infuriating!

The Joe Rose i was talking about was based nr Winchester 10 yrs ago.

Personally, I'd only recommend Nick Sturgess in Winchester/Soton area.
