Hi

I have a horse with sarcoids and am deciding between a Rambo sweet itch hoody and a Rambo Fly buster, both with vamoose. Which would people recommend? Do they rub a fine skinned horse, if so would I be better with both so I can interchange them?

Thanks

I've only tried the rambo sweet itch hoody so can't comment on the other but I found it was great except the holes for the ears were a bit too small and rubbed my horse so I cut them a bit bigger and then it was fine :D

I used to have a horse with sarcoids just below his jugular groove going onto his chest. They best rug I found was a boett rug or you could try a Masta bug rug.

For my current horse I have the sweet itch hoody which is also great, but it he still gets bitten by horse flies through it.

I've had most rugs over time. The Boett & Snuggy hoods are the best but the Rambo SI hoody is the toughest if your horse tends to wreck rugs. The ear holes were wrong for mine and the neck too long on the Rambo but 5 minutes with a needle and thread fixed that. The Rambo did rub a little on the mane in front of the withers but not too much.

Did the masta bug rug withstand a good grooming by other horses, I had an amigo last year that was shredded :)

Yes the boett was great. My old horse loved to be groomed and will not miss an opportunity. He wore it basically all summer and it was still in great condition.

I'll be getting a Masta bug rug this summer :)
