That's about it - just wondered what anyone could recommend. And how they are sized.

Mine is normally 5'9" but I've been told you need to buy a size bigger with fly sheets?

Hi, i have just bought a horseware one, amigo - its bronze and red, normally a 6'3 got a 6'6 - very smart and looks to be good strong quality :)

Another vote for the Amigo, love them, although not sure about going up a size, was the same size in the other rugs as was in the Amigo :?

Amigo fan no.3! I've got the Bug Rug with the removable neck. Amigos are the only rugs that fit my arab without any slipping or rubbed shoulders, so highly recommend them. The rug is just about to start it's second season and nearly looks as good as it did when I first bought it! Very handy having the removable neck too. All Fred's rugs are 6', this includes the Bug Rug.

IME the "cheap and cheerfuls" aren't always; they might seem cheap when you compare with other prices but they won't last.

Mine has sweet itch so I need to go for the "hoody's", which unfortunately are overpriced IMO as all they have extra is the bit that goes over the poll and holes for the ears!!

Rambo is a good make, if expensive.

Last year I bought a Premier Equine hoody and it came up a size too small; annoying as the one I'd bought from them the year previous was a good fit. Their stuff is pretty good value, and the rug I bought from them has lasted well. You either love their stuff or hate it I think.

IF you can get hold of one, a Pessoa fly rug, or even better the hoody version, is fab. Robinsons had them in their winter sale a few years ago and they're the best IMO, but unfortunately like hens teeth to get hold of coz I've not seen them anywhere since.

I have the sweet itch hoody which is a damn good and hard wearing rug, for my second horse I've this year got a good deal on an aerborn one with belly cover, it fits amazingly, and with the lycra neck part it has good coverage too. The mesh seems hard wearing, but time will tell on that one!

Thanks very much. I was beginning to suspect that the cheap ones must have disadvantages and I don't want anything too disposable - I will have a look online at all the recommendations.
