Hellooo :)

Just wondering what girths you all use and why?

I have resently started using a double sided elastic one but I feel my saddle moves to much?

I'm going to go back to my humane one however my new saddler said she doesn't like them because they cause pressure or something? But I quite like it I've never had a problem with it.

I've got a flexi girth,, they do a free trial! Very pleased with it as it has elastic part in the middle to avoid overtightening over the sternum. My saddle stays put too. :-)

I use a Wintec. My boy gets galls from any other girth I tried. Wintec is elasticated so it's not too difficult to tie. He has high narrow withers so the saddle slips back a little bit so I also have a breast plate on him. If you have a girth you like and that your horse is happy with, keep using it.

I use an Albion Legend Leather Girth, it has heavy duty elastic at both ends and it is shaped for comfort. Brilliant girth, I always prefer leather.

Ditto the Wintec Chafeless girth. It has some "give", but the saddle stays put. I like the fact that the elastic is in the middle, its too easy to over tighten the ones with elastic at the ends IMO. The Wintec is easy to care for too.

I used to use a humane girth, but my saddler said he didn't recommend them for safety reasons. If a girth strap breaks with a "normal" girth, the saddle should still be held in place with the remaining strap, but if it breaks with a humane girth it will become loose and the saddle will slip  The equine physio also said they concentrate the pressure on to quite a narrow strip, so I swapped for the Wintec and have been very happy with it.

leather shaped for comfort girth with elastic at 1 end... bit annoyed though as i only have them in brown and my saddle is now black and i dont want to buy a brand new one! lovely girth though!

I have a Flexi girth for my gelding, his saddle fits perfectly but always seemed to move about a bit - flexi girth has completely stopped this happening, he seems a lot happier in it and seems to stretch more than he did previously - definitely successful!!
New mare has a kieffer one, it's lovely and lightweight & doesn't hold sweat but it doesn't have any elastic, so I'm planning on getting her one which does - may get another flexi girth (typically my boys one is too small for her!)

I use a Thorowgood Airform GP girth.
Never had an chaffing or pinching from it and easy to do up, undo etc.
Easy to clean too, just wipe it with a baby wipe every so often.
