Hi I hope I have put this in the right place!
I have a rising two year old coloured bavarian warmblood and plan on showing him in coloured classes but also sports horse youngstock classes.
Can anyone please help me as to what browbands (coloured? Brassetc?) I should be using please? Also he has quite a large head (you may guess from his breed!) and so I think a flat noseband would be more flattering for him - would this be acceptable in these classes?
Also is it true that for sports horse classes I have to dress al in white?
Any advice gratefully received! Thanks
Nicole

OH has a bavarian warmblood witha massive head
the bridle he has is raised and lined white on noseband and browband, with diamantes in the browband... looks lush.

Umm ill have alook and see if i can match things to how i know they look lol
xx

thanks for that I have just been on their website a minute ago funnily enough! So you think brass then? Or black aand white for sports horse and brass for coloured? So confusing!!!

I only dressed all in white for gradings.

Any in hand shows I have done with youngsters ( TB and TB x`s) I just wore black trousers, good shoes (for running with youngster..

.), shirt, stock and jacket.

Although some county shows you can wear a tweed waistcoat.

could be wrong but i have never worn all white at my shows and noone else has.

Just make sure you have good shoes with good grip! Some show arenas are like ice rinks....

or silver for both?

like the one i showed you in silver... then you could use it for both classes....
i do however prefer silver on horses than brass... dont like gold buckles and stuff

He should be shown in a plain bridle - I showed my traditional in a flyde inhand bridle with a 1" flat noseband that looked very good on him.

Only use a coloured browband for a hack type, not a sports horse.

This is the Fyle in hand bridle - beautifull leather. I also used a copper bradoon bit - with a peanut joint which my youngster far preferred to the rubber inhand bits.

Matt Marlow - Heritage Saddlery on ebay also makes some very nice in hand bridles which are worth a look.

If you want to know more about coloured classes - read this handbook

At the BSPA shows, the handlers I have seen are dressed in tweed jackets and trousers to compliment the horse.
