I'm with EandL and have been told how bad they are so often. I read the post about them on here and also the comments about Petplan. I want to change but don't know who to use.
Who do you think is the best company? I've been told NFU are excellent although I've also heard they can be difficult too.
Also I was told today that if your horse is LOU the insurance company can take it for slaughter!!!! Surely this can't be true.

NFU.

SEIB are supposed to be good too.

Never heard that re the LOU mark though

Pet Plan any time for me. They aren't the cheapest but imo they are the best. Have never had any problems with them and have made several claims for horse and loads for the dogs.

Im with E&L - it'll be my post youve seen recently.

Im just about to claim and so far (touch wood!) theyve been friendly and helpful and agreed to pay my vets bills. They are useless at replying to calls but ive logged all my calls, messages left and ive kept copies of the emails ive sent.

Although actually receiving payment is a different thing!

Will let you know if im successful!

NFU. They were so helpful when my last horse came with old racing injury.... even writing to his vet from his previous life. They did everything they could to offer me comprehensive cover... Used to be with E&L but never again !!!! PS Even my vet recommended NFU !

NFU have just sent me this years quote and I am really pleased it's gone down over 10%!!
They have been great with claims aswell....touch wood!!

NFU are very good and so are Equestrian Direct. The important thing is to always let them know what is going on especially re the vets fees. All the insurance companies are being picky thease days but definitely stay clear of E&L!

I'd recommend NFU as well - on my second large claim with them for the same horse within the last 18 months :-(
Also they just overpaid my vet as they were paying part of my invoice not related yo that specific claim!
