Well as you've seen my post re BT I would also inform you that virgin which took over ntl also have the call centres in India I think but unlike BT they are not 0800 (free)

where we going to find decent internet now?? lmao what we like? x

Well OH'S out tomorrow so after what others have said about BT I will give india another go but I am very frustrated that you cannot talk to anyone here apparently it is left to who takes your call to sort out the problem. They do not have a telephone number only and address you can write to or email (if you can get connection);)

virgin media.

most of their call centres during peak hours are uk based actually.

its very rare i got a foreign call centre with them.

they are also one of the best providers given you are in their areas.

also they are free to call from virgin media phone lines.

what you will find is that virgin used to have an adsl network and that was **** and foreign call centres.

ex ntl/cw etc are very good.

I did put (I think) as when we first joined in 2000 it was ntl and the call centres were in India and you paid about 60p per minute. Virgin took over and in a letter (last year I think) it said you would pay for tech support calls?? I hope your right and their calls are free incase I have a problem there. They don't do down south Devon or I would have had them:)

Ive been with Orange for years, the BB is excellent, i cant complain on that score, however their customer service sucks big time! Seriously fed up with them messing up when ive moved home, which i have several times over the last few years & everytime they have screwed it up. The only way to get any sense out of them is to throw all your toys out of the pram & tell them your leaving & then they put you through to an English person who actually understands you & you actually sorts your problem out!! My sister got so fed up with Orange she left & went to Plusnet & said they are really good & alot cheaper.

Do you have an o2 mobile?? If so, you can get decent BB internet for £7.50 a month!! I had it all through uni in a big house with 5 others and it was brilliant, unlimited too so no unexpected costs.

Now I'm with talk talk and would recommend them also, they do the landline with it but think you can get a pacakge where it's £15 a month or something like that.

Plusnet all the way for me. Fantastic service, frill free, UK call centre with knowledgeable staff. Sort out things like changes of address very quickly. I was recommended it by computer geek/scrooge brother about 6 years ago, have never had a single problem.

you have been conned then.lol

we have been with ntl since 1996/7 when they put in lines to the house then.

its always been english call centres and a free number if you have an ntl line.

my only thinking is you have taken the broadband only option and are using a bt line then they will charge.

i dont see how you got indian call centres when i have never got one under ntl and only once under virgin media and then i just asked to be put through to a british call centre.

so its anyones guess what you were doing.

I use tiscali (talk talk) for internet and phone together. Comes out about £15 a month and includes pretty much all calls. They consistently come up the best for us and I've hardly ever had to phone them up so couldn't tell you where the call centres are based.

Have a look on www.moneysavingexpert.com for the current best deals for the internet.
