I have just filed a claim for the death of my horse Taffy, you may remember on a previous post, it was acorn poisoning, people keep telling me how bad my present company H & L is at paying out, is this so? Should I go elsewhere for cover of my new horse Turbo, he arrived last night so need to sort out today, any suggestions would be welcome

I've previously had problems with Petplan paying out and then squirming out of paying and then not covering for certain problems, sometimes I felt quite sharp practise and they are certainly NOT the cheapest.

I'm currently looking into NFU as I've heard good things are they were great when I had my house insured through them.

Amtrust for me. Super fast payment on claims and reasonable premiums

NB anyone else hate that picture that E & L use in their advertising. Not the horse I am referring to but the WHITE bridle they have on it. Poor animal!

Another vote for the NFU - not only have they always given me the most competitive quotes, but I used their claims team extensively over the last 18 months (5 separate concurrent claims + death of my horse) and I cannot fault them at all. Totally recommended

Mine is insured with Amtrust, have had to make large claim on him this year and they paid out on claim within week of receviving vets bills and reports. Very competitive premiums and very helpful on phone if you have any queries.

I had my last horse insured with E&L. When he was pts sleep unexpectedly with colic, not only did I have the shock of losing my gorgeous horse but also the fight of getting the insurance money. It took 8 months to get money from them but I did eventually.
I am now with NFU because they are the most recomended on this forum and they were quite competitive.
