Hi,
So i'm going to The British Racing School in October and i would like to know what racing yard would be best for me to go to. I would like to go to jump yard because I find jumps more exhilarating, and i am more on the heavier side as jockeys go. I currently live in Hampshire so a yard nearby would be ideal, however it is not a necessity. I would like to be in a yard where i would get noticed and would be able to progress. I would love to hear some suggestions about yards which are good, (pay well, treat you well , whatever) and yards that are bad for whatever reason.
Thank you for your help !

You can find a list of trainers near you, link below, as to which will suit best that is going to be a case of applying and seeing what is on offer, what one person finds good another may not, if you want to get noticed you need to work hard, listen to senior staff and the boss, get on with people and do your job as well as you can, you will probably progress more in a smaller yard where there is less competition for senior roles but they will usually be less successful due to having fewer horses so the pay and facilities may not be as good as in a big yard where you are one of many.

Of the trainers on the list below Emma Lavelle is a very successful trainer who has jumpers and flat horses, it is a mid sized yard with 64 horses so could be ideal for someone looking to start out, I have no idea what she is like to work for but she always come across as someone who really enjoys her job and loves the horses she works with .
