Looking to buy some of the little clippers/trimmers. Must be quiet, wanted to clip/trim the head, and for tidying up other areas. Have seen a few butnot sure which one's i'd really need without short changing myself and buying something not upto the job.

Anyone any experience of the liveryman flare, liverman sprite or liveryman elemant?

Thoughts really appreciated x

We use the Liveryman Element trimmers for the stencils and have used the Flairs for the same as well. on them as well. Realistically, you get what you pay for. Flairs are smaller clipping heads for fine coats and light duty and the entry level ones from Eddie Palin.
Not ever had experience with the sprites, but they are going to be stronger than the Flair as they are mains trimmers but have the disadvantage against the Elements that you cannot lose the power chord if the horse doesn't like trailing wires around their face, and the blade is regular steel against the ceramic and titanium coated ones in the Elements which are very sharp and stay that way for ages.

I really rate the Elements and have had a couple of pairs of them over the years. The blades when oiled regularly and kept clear of hair from between them are excellent.

Super, thanks for the reply. So realistically what are the elements capable of? My horse has a very fine coat (WB) in good condition.

Our native pony Jessie had this star pattern shaved entirely with a set of Elements in early october a few years ago by my daughter (ponyfeet10) as a demo of what we sell, and to show where the shapes can be applied.

This design was done with Flairs as you can see:-

Both coped with native pony hair in the middle of the winter coat growing season but the flairs will without doubt give up the ghost sooner and you can't replace the blades on them like you can on the Elements.
