My horse loves between his hind legs stroked and will turn round in the stable to have this done.It is the softest bit of him ,even softer than his muzzle.Which part of your horse is your favourite to stroke?

Ponio likes to be stroked on his cheeks (on his face

Will likes his tail region and underside stroked gently and will 'ask' you to keep doing it. Dunno about Cat yet, he seems to like attention of any kind but likes to be scratched in the usual horsey places. Personally I like stroking muzzles.

The filly loves her crest being scratched, the cob gelding would keep you scratching his flanks all day if he could. The old mare loves having the front of her face rubbed. The others don't really seem to have any preferences -although they all seem to like attention!!

Mine all love that area gently rubbed. The mares all adore their teats being rubbed too and as you say, yes they will back up to you or position themselves so that this is the obvious place that they want rubbing.

Mine really likes having her crest scratched - she has 2 whorls in the middle of her neck on the rhs and she likes being scratched bang in between them. She leans into it and her bottom lip droops and wobbles when you do it as she likes it so much. Another good scratching point is her withers - especially in the winter when she's rugged up - she looks like she's in heaven when she gets a scratch on her neck and withers at the same time!

If I tried this with my gir I'd end up in A&E! She hates being stroked anywhere - not a touchy feely horse at all. I have to sneakily cuddle my friend's horse instead. My old horse loved getting her cheeks stroked ( the ones on her face I may add!)

I like to stroke my horse's ears and muzzle best, but he prefers to have his withers scratched. He likes me to stand with my back to his chest and wrap my arms around his head (mainly so he can search me for mints!)
