Hi,

I'm finding it really difficult to get a rug to fit Rhea. A 6'0" fits perfectly on her length-wise, but every rug that I've tried almost comes down to her knees! She's 15hh so not a small Welsh Cob, but every rug seems to be made for a lanky Thoroughbred!
I'm going to the Royal Highland Show next week, so I'm going to spoil her and take advantage of the offers. Looking for all different rugs; turnout, stable rugs, fleeces etc so any recommendations of brands would be brilliant!

Thanks! :D

My Welsh C wears Amigo, and Fal. He is a chunky chap and takes a 5'9". Find they fit lengh and depth. Are you competing at RHS JenniferS?

I like the fit of the axiom although you can only buy them on eBay. I have a light weight and a chunky cob. What fits the chunky cob is far to big on the front for the light weight. Why can't horses be one size fits all? ;)

Thanks for all the replies so far! I got her the Weatherbeeta Fleece Combo for when I was picking her up, but it was only a 5'9" which did fit fine at the time but yet again was fairy long (not knee length though!) but she grew out of it after only having it on once :(

No, just going up for a couple of days to watch :)

my 13.2 new forest takes a 6ft rug and he has rambo's as they are the only ones that don't come down to his knees.

Use Mark Todds all the time for my Irish (Welsh?) cob. They fit beautifully, have good expansion opportunities across the chest, and are deep enough to be well below the horse's belly without as you put it "coming down to the knees".

My 15hh welsh wears amigos and premier equine 6ft and they fit him beautifully- never had any sign of a rub either.

The rug that fits my Section D is an Amigo. He is 15.1 and wears a 6" or 6"3" (depending on which rug) and they seem to suit his shape. The Rhino come up far too small for him but the Rambo fit him very well.

Weatherbeata turnout and stable although the fleeces and fly rugs need chest expanders :-) got the next size up in fly rug and took it in 3 inches 'made to measure rugs' ;-)

i have similar prob with my clydesdale but they dont go long enough generally 7'3" fitted last year but not this year but i find weetherbeeta the best x
