Hey Guys, it's the end of August and depressingly it's going to be winter in a few short months:eek::( . So this year I'm going to be better prepared with rugs & I have written a list of the possibilities that I should buy! Star fits the Amigo range best but will also squeeze into Weatherbeeta. The Bravo range in the Amigo's is best for him as he and his field mate seemed to have a competition last year who could rip their rugs the best and Star completely destroyed his 600D rug, but hasn't got so much as a rip in the 1200D one:D.

Rugs he has atm (yes I know he has lots but he still needs a full collection:eek:;) ):
2 Amigo 1200D &600D lightweight (no fill) turnout
2 Amigo 1200D & 600D medium weight (200g) turnout
1 Rambo 1000D(or whatever D the Rambo rugs usually are!) heavyweight (300g) turnout
Snuggy hood turnout hood

Amigo stable sheet
Amigo fleece
Rambo waffle cooler

This is the list of rugs I've written up, please could you help me put them in order of what you think I should buy. Star's a connemara and comes into his stable at night in the winter & out in the field in the day.

Thaaaankyou in advance! Sorry, I'm useless at prioritizing :D

I would get the 100g Amigo turnout and use the turnout rugs in the stable overnight. If you check under them daily for rubs and that they haven't slipped, I've found that it works really well.

If you really want to swap to a stable rug overnight, then the Amigo stable rug is nice. I used to have one for my chestnut mare a few years ago. In fact she also had the Weatherbeeta combo fleece too as I used to put it under the stable rug on very cold nights. They are both good rugs.

I have to agree with the turn outs indoors idea apart from saving time they dry so much better on a horse than hanging over hay bales!
I wish i hadnt bothered really with stable rugs as i rarely use them other than as under rugs when its very cold.
Id get another heavy turn out. Snuggy hoods are immense! ;-D

In your shoes I honestly would save my pennies and wait until you see what gets trashed and needs replacing! Very boring, I know, but you seem to have everything you need, and you can't predict what will be first to be destroyed!

I should have said - the reason I suggested going for the 100g Amigo is because I have a Smartex Rain (LW but with a fleece lining, so similar warmth to a 100g rug) and I use it far more than I thought I would. It's a very useful option to have. :)
