I'm looking for a new saddle primarily for jumping and hacking (ive got a dressage saddle for flat)

First question does anyone know if Albion and Jeffries fit in a similar way? I.e. Medium Albion same as a medium Jeffries?

I really like the falcon saddles but keep swaying between the VSS one and the event saddle.

Also would a 17inch be ok for a 17hh horse? I'm only petite! And done want to be sliding around!

Anyone got any experiences of them? Which would you go for?

ive had falcon i loved it but turned out to narrow for mare. I would suggest saddles direct they have sorted me out brilliantly with my gelding. speak:) to them

Had the falcon hawk event and ridden quite a few times in VSS

VSS has a closer feel to the horse
The falcon I felt very perched on top

I like the slightly more forward cut of the VSS as my knees came off the end of the knee roll on the falcon

I also prefer square cantles which the VSS has

I also Like thigh blocks so VSS for me

I'm swaying towards vss as it's going to be my jumping saddle and I do like the knee support when jumping hence having a new one. The events are always given a good review that was what was making me consider it.

Thanks guys!

There is a K2 jump and a K2 GP so be sure to specify which you want.

Its really hard to advise - depending on your length of thigh versus calf will dictate how comfortable you with different thigh blocks. The K2 has proved to be good on horses with big shoulders and is the saddle I ended up with. However, It is not the most comfortable saddle I have sat on but it was a case of having a very restricted choice as not much fitted my previous horse. Saddler has been advised that my current (wide) K2 will probably not fit my new horse next year (baby, changing a lot) but looks like the Albion SL dressage which I am buying will (same saddle I had sold 2 years ago to a friend!)

I've just bought a VSS to jump/hack in as I intend to buy a dressage saddle for on the flat. I personally think the event is an alround saddle which I would have bought if I hadnt inteded to buy a dressage saddle. Anyway I love the feel my VSS gives me, like a previous poster says you feel much closer to the horse than you do with the event.
