Which saddle?

Hiya...

I own a 14:2hh cob type, round horse. At the moment I am riding him in an Albion selecta Wide saddle. It has been adjusted to make it extra wide although its now not wide enough again.

I have heard tree-less saddles are very good although do they slide on a round horse?

Can anybody advise or recommend for this type of horse?

Fieldhouse saddles are very good for the wider horse.

I ride with a treeless and not had a problem, if I know we are going to do any steep hills then I use a hunting breastplace. It it definatly an evoctive subject but i do really like mine.

When I ride my heavy cob I use a treeless saddle but to stop it slipping I use a Barnsby Grip Pad, That does the trick.

Black country's are great for wide horses,i've had 3for my welsh D. They are about £895 though.
U can get a Wintec Wide (designed for the v.wide horse) for £350.Just got one for my growing youngster and it's fab,great value and v.comfy.

A wide Pessoa if you can get hold of one. My friend tried a treeless but it slipped back all the time.

I have a Fieldhouse that fits nicely, and he is extra wide. Also my friend who has a chunky highland they fit
