Hi everyone

I just wondered which sports bra people use/ rate? I mainly school/ dressage/ hack but do occasionally jump.

I usually just ride in a normal bra as I'm not overly blessed in that department but my friend thought i was mad not to have one saying i'll get saggy boobs and on a serious note thinks it will help me with me sitting taller.

She's fairly large and wears a normal bra with a sports bra over the top. Is this the way to do it? Are there any shops that do fittings of this type of thing?

Sorry if i sound a little naive but it seems I've reached the age of 28 with absolutely no clue about them!!!

Well I tend to a normal bra most off time, for hacking schooling jumping etc(don't really do sitting trot tho!) but out hunting I also wear a sports bra, I wear a shock absorber one. I'm not excatly big chested :/ partly wear one out hunting as found that when I first started hunting when I just wore a normal bra the straps fell down (not a glamarous looking hooking them up really, lol) I normally wear both bras out hunting, alltho partly because I always think I look a bit flatchested in just a sports bra (me vain? Never :p, alltho wen I broke my collar bone and had xrays etc was rather pleased that quite covered up). Would say that your are prop best to have a look around perhaps go to a shop, I do believe that shock absorber have a tradestand and are at a few major shows and they can fit and let you know which support etc you need.

I am rather well endowed and I wear a shock absorber when I'm doing anything more than a poodle around. Good price, great support, you can get them fitted at debenhams where I got mine.

I am a 34g, and at 5ft2 unless properly supported "the twins" have a mind of their own!

I wear a normal bra, with a M&S high impact sports bra over the top cost me 20 quid and has lasted a year and still going strong, and they dont move!

Thanks everyone for your replies.

It looks like its going to be case of trying a few and seeing what feels best but you've all given some great recommendations. I can just see myself now stood in the changing rooms bouncing up and down pretending I'm trotting along! (i think i'll do that when the assistant isnt looking!)

Freya sports active. Best sports bra ever, much better than a shock absorbed! Get the one without wire, don't bother with two bras, one good one is much better.

Have to wear one, with mine anything other than a walk is uncomfortable! got a high impact one from M&S and love it - also wear it to play rugby and they don't move an inch. Is one of the sports top style ones rather than a traditional bra style - stops the straps falling down and reasonably priced methinks! :)

I've got an M&S and some shock absorbers - both are great. Don't wear 2 bras - there's really no point and avoid wired bras too.

Have just seen some in Tesco's though for a fiver and am wondering about trying one, they look like the Shock Absorber.

Ì've got Shock Absorbers and can't ride without them. They're comfy, keep the girls under control very well and most importantly don't give you a "mono-boob" look. Make sure you get the right impact level though - it's all explained on the packaging, but riding is considered once of the highest impact sports so you need a level higher than you would for other things.

Sports bra (so long as it's new enough) and tight sports top for me, unless I'm wearing a BP, in which case any bra would do... Then I tend to go for sports bra on its own as I don't want underwires. Racer type backs are better as the straps don't go for a wander - it's really embarassing to have to go fishing for escapees in a lesson...

go to lessbounce.com...

I have an Enell and a Freya - both very comfy. Not flattering in the slightest, but anything's better than black eyes. Prefer the Enell tbh, but couldn't really tell you why.

ETA - I'm a 40G in a normal bra, and a size 3 in the Enell.

I second this. My Enell is fab.

Before I discovered them, I relied on Doreens - they're brill too.

Another vote for shock absorber I'm a 34D and when dressage tests are filmed the ones with an ordinary bra are so not a good look.

Shock absorber if I wear a sports bra.
Its normally just what ever one I put on in the morning  haha

Only thing is when I splash out on a new Sports Bra they never work as well as I imagine them too.
Afraid my assets have a mind of their own :o

I ride side saddle and you HAVE to sit to the trot so usually ride in a Shock Absorber (I'm a 36G or a 38F) but lately I've been getting pains in my boobs where the muscle is at the side so am wondering if I need something stronger like an Enell? Not keen on the monobosom look though as riding habits are fitted!!!

I only by shock absorbers bras now and I'm quite heavy up top (despite weightloss lol) can't see past them I have several as I play badminton/go to gym a lot as well as ride and I find them great :)

I love the Shock Absorber Ultimate Run Bra. It can be a bit of a contortion getting into it with that back clip but, once you're in, the girls aren't going anywhere!

IME, they tend to run small so it's definitely worth going up a band size. I'm normally a 32 and I couldn't even fasten that.
