I'm definitely a stage 4 at the moment - fell off and broke several ribs a while back, got back on horse and finished jumping and then took myself to the hospital :D

Stage 4/5; got back on the horse and finished lesson. Went to 'walk-in' thinking only needed a pair of crutches and prescription painkillers. Ended up in ICU; flirted with the ambulance men (they came to see me at 10.30 pm to see how I was doing having placed bets with each other as to what they thought I had!) and ended up in back brace and supposedly not allowed to ride for four to five months.....and when I said to consultant "can't i just go for gentle hacks ie walking" he said "on the horse? Well that's riding isn't it?"

Going back to hospital 30th Jan which will be end of three months to 'persuade' them I'm ok to ride. ;)

Brilliant find OP - thanks. Made me chuckle.

Also a combination of 2 and 3... bluddy fookin horses, anyone got an ice pack - ohh, I'm bleeding, deal with that later. Which way did it go? ;)

I'm at stage 4... but i doubt it'll be long before stage 5 greets me (again - have done this once, but that was 10 yrs ago and seem to have regressed..!!) Oh how i miss stages 1 & 2!! :p

Ha ha defo stage 4! Broke a bone in my right hand 2 weeks ago on a jump lesson, my mare took off over a trotting pole and took an extra stride. I was slightly unbalanced and hit my hand on her neck, I heard something snap but carried on to the end of the lesson. At end of lesson, hand is going purple and swelling and next morning is even more so. Go to work, go to a meeting, manage to scrawl the minutes and only got to Walk In Centre when my boss demands I go! Walk In Centre confirm I have a punch fracture and bandage said hand! Got back on the horse weekend just gone, back to Fracture Clinic today who say hand healing nicely and will do so on own!:p

These days 7! (Bought my first ever "mature" horse 3 months ago) as a teenager I was in the paper for ending up in A&E three times in three months.
