Which stallion would u put my mare to??

Here's a link for you DoD, Biddesden Stud. All That Jazz is the penultimate featured horse on the homepage; a long way down! And I think I've answered my own question about whether he's related to Grafik; no.. (I've met a Grafik youngster with a more than questionable temperament..)

ETA. Lots of photos of him on the news section at Tattersalls too..

It's annoying that they don't seem to have a straightforward side-on conformation-pic of All That Jazz on the website - it's jolly hard to judge bone, substance, etc. from jumping and dressage pics - although he is clearly a super horse and has a very good competition record.

Although he's a 50/50 AA, he actually looks fairly substantial, but impossible to tell really without a conformation-pic. I think someone posted a whole thread about this issue recently!

Having said that, the Biddesden horses are super and they are certainly doing a great job of proving that PBAs can succeed at the highest level!

Oh thanks Shaab- had not seen that website ! Finally found ATJ after scrolling a long, long way down! He looks nice enough but its impossible to tell from those pics. Need a proper confo pic !! Groan why do they not have a proper website for him- the Guinesses have got more than enough money !

Was interested to note that theyve got another stallion - Persiflage by Primative Rising out of a Arab mare I think? Sounds interesting breeding, but again am not sure about him from the photos!

Thanks everyone, you've given me alot more potienal husbands to consider. Still think I'm gona go down the t.b/s.f ,route as my mares speed xc ( or lack of!) is the main issue I want to improve! Will keep you posted if I ever manage to decide.

Navalgem has just covered her mare with a very nice (but I am highly biased) SFxTBxHann, I think SF/TB route is excellent, I am very happy with my crosses! The are very agile, light, quick in my experience.
I also crossed my BWP with a TB this year and I think I have a super little eventer in the making as a result (again I am probably highly biased!

I have to admit that Persiflage is the only Biddesden stallion that I don't like! But then I have not seen him in the flesh, so perhaps the pics are just very unflattering!

I have had a cracking foal by High Scope using frozen semen out of a 15.3 TB event mare. I quote"arguably the best jumper on the fourstar circuit, he has not incurred a single jumping fault in his last six international competitions including the Olympics in Sydney.... He breeds temperament, conformation and incredible scope and jumping ability." He is by Touchdown (who was by Galoubet A) and who represented Ireland at the Barcelona Olympics. Bought by Bruce Davidson post Sydney he was 5th at Rolex Kentucky in 2002 and was on on course for WEG when he was killed. Semen is avialable from World Class Stallions and cost me around £700.

Honsetly I wouldn't change her type and would breed her to a cracking coloured cob stallion, and buy something that was suited to your needs. Perhaps a stallion that shows tremendous paces and great agility, last years winner of the foal futurity at CHAPS was a stunning cob foal and that is what I would want from her.
