Hi

I am about to mouth my 3 1/2 year old. I was going to use a happy mouth, but she has little room in her mouth between her tongue and palate, a typical Anglo Arab mouth. I think she will eventually be in a ported bit, but think when starting off the side to side action of these bits will not give clear enough signals. Does anyone have any recommendations?

(also in stable yard, but had no responses so thought I would try you guys as you seem v helpful) :)

Thanks

I had a similar problem, I went for a Myler comfort snaffle, the mouthpiece is in three parts so it doesn't apply pressure on the roof of the mouth.

mines in a simple hanging cheet french link snaffle. and very content.

definately something without a single joint so to eliminate the nutcracker action of some bits.

i also found that the a lozenge bit put too much pressure on mines tongue which he hated, but lots of horses go well in these :)
