I've just found out that the sire of my 24 year old is Steel City. I have looked on the TB pedigree database and there are two possible ones. One Steel City (bay) from USA was born in 1964 and his sire was Pieces of Eight and his dam Risky Law.
The second is from GB (chestnut) born in 1974 and his sire was Sharpen Up and dam Tantaus Delight.
My horses registered name is Burwarton Burglar so I have a feeling it could be the first one since his dam was called Risky Law and he is bay.
He is 7/8 TB and has no more details on his passport. Is it possible that it is the USA stallion or is it more likely to be the GB one?
Or even better, has anyone heard of Burwarton Burglar! He came from the Gloucester area and used to event. I have the BE records of him but I would love to speak to someone who knew him in his heyday.

No, there's nothing on his passport. I think he was bred in the Gloucester area. I tried to get in touch with previous owners who are on his medical card but I didn't get any reply, it was so long ago they've probably moved on. I'm just interested in his history, he's the best horse I've ever had and it's so sad that his best years are behind him, at least we can still have gentle hacks and he's relatively healthy for his age.
