Which supplement to reduce gas - Protexin Gut Balancer or Equine 74?

Trying to find a good gut balancer to feed to my horse. He's had recurrent gas colic (discussed in a previous thread) and the vets and I have ticked off all the obvious causes. He gets a build up of gas which causes colon displacement so I really need to find a way to prevent this gas in the first place.

I've read numerous threads/articles etc and there are a lot of products on the market but I'd love some first hand feedback from someone who has been in a similar situation.

At present, I've narrowed it down to Equine 74 or Protexin Gut Balancer. Does anyone have any comments/suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

If you can afford it - sucralfate. Fig had gassy colic (which sadly eventually got the better of him, suspected tumour) and suffered hind gut acidosis. This really turned him around and reduced his symptoms. I had no issues for the best part of 5 years plus.

He's been on sucralfate for his ulcers and it resolved that issue but he still had a colic episode during treatment. Looking for something long term.
