We set out to buy a 148cm JC pony for our 13 yr old daughter. But we have seen 2 we like and cannot choose between them. Can you help?
Pony 1 is a very nice pony, nice manners, and a BSJA record which is very good. Not done too much so my daughter can still do BN and work her way through. We tried this pony at home and at an event where daughter did a 90cm clear round course nice and steady and cleared it all no problem. We had the pony 5 stage vetted and it failed a flexion test on one hind leg. We are having it re-tested next week to see if its ok (2 wks after 1st test. Pony 1 is being sold by an agent on behalf of a family who have broken up.
Pony 2 is also a very nice well mannered pony. However slightly smaller than Pony 1. It has done lots of PC, ODE and XC. It jumped Newcomers on a ticket with a double clear. We have only tried it at its home and in traffic and it was lovely. Lots of presence and more forward going than pony1 but I think my daughter would be able to gee up pony 1 without too much trouble. Pony 2 owners are happy to take it to an event next weekend so we can see it out.
Now ,pony 1 is a year older and £1k more expensive than pony 2. Neither of them come with any tack although pony 2 comes with its rugs.
Dont know what to do we all like both of them and daughter cant choose which to go for. If we want to go further with pony 2 I really want to cancel the 2nd vet test on pony 1 as I dont want to spend the extra money if I dont have to.
