Which Trailer Do You Have?

Would you only break your own horse(s) in?

Finn - I have a Deauville - I absolutely love it. Horses seem to like it too as is travels so smoothly due to the suspension and it is bright inside. Also noticed in the almost non-existant summer days we had it was significantly cooler in the trailer as it reflects the heat being white.....

I have an Ifor 505 and my 16.2 travels quite happily in it, she jumps onto the ramp.......loves going out for parties!
I would like more head room for her, so we will possibly look at upgrading to a wagon or Equitrek.

Cheval Liberte are also high up on my list...but heard bad things about them. They are also V lightweight.

Which model do you have?

2003XL.

Everyone I know who has them, loves them. It seems like the ones who really don't like them, have never actually tried them!

Ours cost £3400 but has the full spec, the pullman suspension means it tows really smoothly. It has quick release chest bars you can undo from outside if a horse gets stuck, full size grooms door (no horses getting stuck if they try to escape out of it), back ramp can open like a door if you wanted to collect say a pallet of feed or bedding. Its has a small tack pack thing but I took ours off, didn't like it..

Lovely and light and airy inside. The chest and tail bars have 2 heights and 3 length settings so plenty of alteration. Also has back top doors not those plastic blind thingies some have.

Oh and its very light and has gas assisted ramps so I can manage it totally on my own.

Have a Ifor 510, love it as does Toff as she now loads every time

Had a Bahill before that (sold as would have been too small for Toff and Beano) and that was lovely and light to tow and got me through my trailer test!
Briefly had a Fautras but Toff didn't like travelling herringbone and also found it too small for her (she is short but very long!) Also I found it too heavy to manoeuvre on my own and I do nearly all my hitching/travelling alone.

We had also heard bad things about Ifors but now having owned one I would stick with them.

Also tend to hold their value well....

I have a lightweight Richardson trailer and it will fit 2 16'2" horses easily. I've had it for about 10 years Fab little trailer! Apparently they now do plastic floors in them, hoping to get one in mine

Ifors are horrible, rattly, shakey things and after all the rigmoral with the floors I am afraid I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole

Nope neither would I.

I bought a second hand Equitrek. I think its a 5 star one. Its got living with a loo, cooker, double bed that folds down etc and then tack space and a water hose at the back?

I love mine!

My horse travelled really well in it (although he has come all the way from South America via Italy so I guess he is used to travelling!)

Its in the yard by the stables and its lovely to have a little 'room' to make a cup of coffee etc. I also spent some sunny days dozing in the hammock in the back with the side down with my horse muching outside - ah bliss!

So as a little 'motorhome' type facility its very handy.

Tows very well too but it is big!
