Just trying decide what food to get in for the Winter. It's for a 16 year old TB who does drop weight over the Winter.

I usually feed him speedy/quick beet but am wondering if normal Sugar beet might be better for condition. Is there much difference between them?

Speedibeet actually contains a similar amount of calories to normal molasses sugar beet so no difference in terms of conditioning power.

I'd go for speedi beet, the extra sugar in the molassed stuff will do you no good! How about adding oil if more cals are needed and adlib hay/haylge isn't doing the trick?

Great thanks, will stick to speedy beet then as it's much easier and it means he can have nice warm feeds!

He will get Ad-lib haylage and get 3 feeds a day through the dead of Winter. He did hold his weight better last Winter but I was having to feed him a lot!
