With VAT increases and my 2 being so filthy, its costing me a fortune to keep mine on shavings....won't go back to straw.

I have rubber mats, and want to give this wood pellet thing a go....but which sort do I buy???

I did this last year, I thought they were great for about a month then they started to go very dark and made very hard beds.
I have now moved to a bedding simular to bedmax that is supplied locally. I personally would never go back to pellets but there are many on here that love them. Where are you in the country? If you are anywhere near Lancs I can give you my suppliers details.

The bed IS solid, which is what I aim for. I deep litter mine, when the wet comes to the top, I scrape back the dry stuff and lift about 3 or 4 inches of very wet but leave the rest as a base. Then I scrape back the dry stuff over the hole.

I get mine from a local supplier (Bellingdon Farm) - I love them! However, I turn my mare out for 12 hours a day and she hardly ever pees in her stable! Love her! The bed is wonderful - megga megga easy to muck out and if you are a YO there is very little bed being put on the muck heap each day. It is very absorbant to.

TBH I've gone for e semi deep litter with the shavings anyway, my boys tend to pee in the same place each night so I take out their pee spot and don't bother turnong the rest very often so I think maybe pellets is the way to go for them....the issue with shavings is how much they mix poo in with it.

Corley every time - their customer service is second to none - unlike LWP - have a quick search on here and you will find plenty of unhappy customers from LWP.

I have used LWP once and never again - Corley are great only take the money when your order is being dispatched and their delivery people call as requested etc etc

I have never had a problem from LWP?
The biggest factor for myself is quality and you get the premium from them, plus they worked out 26% cheaper than Corley for cost and delivery of 100 bags :)

I started off with one of the mid price range pelets, was soon converted and my most recent lot were Liverpool, tbh there isn't much (if any) difference in my opinion.

I've posted on a few sites about this today and have had mixed reports on ALL brands, so it seems to be trial and error and finding a personal preference. I've gone for White horse this time but will def try a few diff types.

I hated white horse ones. They take forever to soak, always look dirty and I used about twice as many. We either have LWP or Corley. Both have been absolutely fine for us :)

I use one bag a week in brown horse's stable. And I only take out my wet once a week. And despite this his bed still looks lovely and thick and immaculate and dry all the time. Love em!

Nitty not so much. Nothing could keep her clean!
