Can anyone help with their own experiences please....

I have a sensitive wee horse that I have recently bought a wow saddle for but he is getting little lumps under his saddle area. He got these years ago in his previous saddle before I changed him to a nuumed wool numnah which seemed to do the trick but I wasnt sure what was best to go under a wow as dont want anything too thick? (Numnah is clean with a non biological wash so dont think allery is the cause of the problem)

Was considering the nuumed half wool pad but wasnt sure if it would be too thick??

Can anyone let me know what they are using and advise I try?

Thanks

Thanks thats what I am using just now and cotton seems to be causing the problem?? Yes it is wow saddle with air and I totally agree it somehow defeats the purpose of a lovely air filled saddle to then have a thick wool numnah underneath!

Dont know what to try though......

I use the nuumed half wool numnah under my wow with no probs. Its not that thick but gives my sensitive mare a little bit more protection.

I use the nuumed half wool saddlecloth or a Mattes wool one under mine for everyday wear. Nothing to do with fit problems - the bl**dy mare is grey with ultra-sensitive skin so everything has to be wool or dead sheep (including the girth), expensive baggage!

I do have a lush Mattes sheepskin one for competitions. I have it with the front roll of sheepskin on and it blocks against the front of the saddle so don't need attachments for the D-rings.

You should be able to put the Nuu-med under without affecting your fit.
I just get mine fitted with the Mattes saddle cloth on as that is slightly thicker.

Thank you so much good to know it doesnt affect fit. My wee horse is arab x appaloosa with ultra sensitive skin too! Time to go buy the nuumed I think!

Thanks for your help

i use 1/2 wool numed under my wow and also have no problems, i get the saddle fitted with the numnah ;)

i have a suecarson saddle.....same sort of air idea! and got told not to use anything too thick due to the saddles fitting so closely so i use the close contact nuumed ones! C:

WOW sell a half wool numnah for their saddles, although they don't seem to advertise it. Might be worth giving them a call as it should be perfect fit if it was designed around their saddles
