My horse had a negative dung sample ie:less than 50 - no eggs seen, about a month ago now.

At the beginning feb he was done for equest and in june for equvalan duo according to then livery yard regime.

Poo picked all summer every week and had his own paddock - never shared.

Now at a new yard with no turn out at all.

Question is what do I worm him with?
I know that the neg dung sample doesnt count bots or tape worms but its still a tad confusing!! hot chocolate to those who have read this far lol!!

kind regards

Hi, why don't you ask the people who did the worm sample? If you are worming for the time of year then you need to worm for tapeworm. I have just done mine with Equimax. :)

is it me or is that a very odd worming routine?? anyway i had mine worm counted in july, one came back clear and the other med, wormed the medium one with equest and have just wormed them both with equest pramox. i won't worm again until the spring and then i will worm count again in the summer.

just to add the horse with the medium count only came to me in june.

Ditto above. As the worm count came back low, I would just worm for tapeworm (use Equitape for example).

Personally I worm for encysted redworm and bots at Xmas time and will be using Pramox then. Just my choice though, I'm not saying that's the only way!
