a topinc that probably been done hundreds of times but im getting slightly confused of which one i should give and which is the best
im wanting to have a break from the equest as been on for a year now so what are you all giving?
anybody ever used :
Eraquell
Noromectin
Ivermectin
Vectin Gel
Panacur Equine Paste
Eqvalan Paste for Horse
what was your experiences any side effects? etc
thanks in advance

Ive just used Eqvalan Duo which covers tapeworm, used this in Spring and Autumn this year, used Eqvalan paste in between. Will use Equest during January or Feb to cover encysted redworm.

You need to either do equest or Panacur equine guard now for encrusted red worm. Why don't you give your vet a quick call for worming advice and ask them to send you out a plan. Equest all year is not necessary but Id usually advise using it this time of year and varying in between according to wec results.

Also, most of the ones you mentioned are ivermectin wormers which are fine for summer use. If you wec in spring and autumn you may be able to get away with Just using an equitable tape wormer spring and autumn if the result is negative.

Second the others; Equest or Panacur now for encysted redworms. Panacur has known resistance and is over 5 days. Equest (moxidectin) has not shown any resistance yet (I believe!) so I would worm with Equest or Equest Pramox, pramox is the tapeworm bit so if you haven't done tapeworm for a while would do pramox.
It is recommended not to overuse Equest (moxidectin) as it is such an effective wormer so only use it once a year for encysted and use WEC's and specific wormers throughout the rest of the year
