Horse hasn't been ridden since Thursday, pulled a muscle and was slightly uneven behind in trot. He's much better now so I plan to ride today in walk for a short session.

I have two options:

1. Ride in the school - safer but will include turns (I wouldn't make him do circles though, just changes of rein on the outside track).
2. Ride on the road - very straight BUT risk of heavy (arctic) traffic (spooking) and he's not been ridden since thursday/been hacked out for two weeks.

I'm thinking the road would be best and chances are we'd be fine but I don't want to cause any issues if he spooked

Same as maesfen, I would give more time off. Whenever I've pulled a muscle it's been bloomin sore for a couple of weeks! Can he have some turnout while he mends?

I wasn't sure whether to just keep as I was or start riding again. He's fine in walk, tracking up in both hinds and has been turned out from 8am-4pm every day (thurs/fri/sat/sun/today).

I'm not desperate to ride at all, just want to do what I can to help him improve :)
