Which xc boots do you use and why?

I have pe air cooled ones, really happy with them as he has worn them loads for hacking and xc. Mine seem to have washed up well compared to what some people have found. They are also the only ones that do a small and as the pony has stupidly short legs he cant bend his knees in mediums.

We either use EcoGold or Prolite.
Absolutely love EcoGold stuff, the saddle pads etc, and the boots are brilliant. Prior to that I swore by Prolite, so we have horses in both. Never tried Dalmar, what are the horror stories? I don't get too much into boot debates - not very open to change!

ETA they are both the same price from Horses in Sport - £65 for fronts and £70 for hinds

the horror story about Dalmars is that the strike pads are made of carbon fibre, which, while very light and very strong, if hit hard enough, splinters. (i know for a fact, for instance, that the P.E. strike guards just crack, have seen one. horse was unhurt.) Someone on here had a horse permanently written off when the splinters from the tendon guard of a Dalmar went into its tendon... :( :( :(

I have used, do use, and always use Clarendon boots.
  1. Never rub.
  2. comfortable to wear .
  3. gr8 protection over jumps.
  4. protect the horse from injury from strange horses kicking.
