Which XC saddle would you choose?

I recently had a JMX on trial. Lovely saddle but it felt too wide in the twist. I also had an Ideal Impala Pro to try at the same time and much preferred that.

Have seen a Fairfax one but only sat on it on a wooden horse so can't really comment sorry.

The Fairfax has a more forward cut flap so it would be better if you have longer legs.

The jeffries looks like a GP saddle tbh. Not nearly forward cut enough for XC.

I would choose fairfax

Have you ridden in one? I've talked to a few people who were involved in the trials but no one who is using one in the real world.

I'm always a bit leery of products in the first couple of years of general production as I think it can take some time to get the bugs ironed out. I learned that the hard way with both a saddle and a car - both were fine but later models were tweaked to address issues I found in my own use and were probably superior because of it. There have been quite a few "breakout" saddle designs that have fallen by the wayside.

That said, they are good looking!

Why have you narrowed it down to those two, OP? Horse fit?
