Yard 1
Good hacking
Group turnout all day
Nice arena
12x12 stables maybe
Bedding feeding and mucking included
Will do everything so never need to be up
40 minutes away
Miles away from everything such as vet and competitions, but they have the best farrier who comes to the yard (he doesn’t do yard calls anymore bar this livery everyone has to box to him)
Also beach on the door step but also means the place is incredibly windy and cold. Gloria was here in summer and needed a rug due to the wind. May make them spookier for riding.
€280 a month per horse

Yard 2
Good hacking
Turnout as much as I want (will confirm Saturday) sheltered. Will definitely be my two out together at all times unsure if more will be turned out together
Nice arena
Bigger stables
Bedding and feeding included
25 minutes away
€80 a week per horse and he will muck out the odd day if I can’t make it for no extra cost
Or €100 mucking included everyday

Problem is I told yard one I was coming and they reserved the spot for me (didn’t put deposit) they’re very sought after so I don’t think they’d have issue getting someone else just feel bad as I said I was coming.
Yard 2 only advertised today which is why I didn’t know about them

Am I reading right that you would still need to go daily to yard 2? Twice a day when in?

I would pick yard one. Cheaper and you can pick and choose when you fancy going. Will only need to go up once on the days you want to go.

40 minutes each way is a lot of time spent just travelling, it would have to be a mega super place to justify that.

25 minutes away is still a lot if that’s twice a day for diy. Is it €100 full livery at yard 2, so you don’t have to go up each day?
Have to talk further on Saturday but I think/hope I’d only have to go up once a day as they would throw in my haynet in morning/or turnout for me as they’re at yard everyday
He also said he would muck out one day a week for me so I don’t have to come up at all for no extra or i can turn them out for few days if I was away and they’d be checked
100 a week would mean mucked and fed everyday in and out to field so could skip days and just ride when up

split them up between the two until you decide which you like best?😂

it depends what you’re wanting from a move, if you’re already doing them yourself daily and don’t mind that then yard 2 for me, if the daily upkeep of them all is too much (understandably, i wouldn’t have a 3rd unless it was given to me!) then yard 1

Need turnout haha and that’ll help reduce the mucking out by itself tbh

How happy would you be with someone else doing them, and do you trust the people if you aren't there? I'd be leaning towards yard 1, yes it's a bit further but once you're there your time is with your horse rather than doing stable duties. Windy hopefully means less flies, and as I found out on a very windy yard they and us do get used to it.

He's offering mucking out, feeding, turning out and bringing in every day for an extra €20 a week?
Yeah I’m not gonna say it’s logical
He has his own horses there so don’t know if it’s huge difference for him but 🤷🏻‍♀️
His diy/assisted diy rate is high for around here so the full is average/high

Going with yard 2 tho I feel bad as yard 1 held the space

80 a week per horse
Brand new stables up 3 weeks
He will do morning feed rug and turnout so only have to be up once a day to muck feed and bring back in
Horses can go out a few days if I’m away or if there’s something on every once and awhile he will muck out for me no extra
Unlimited haylage included and as much bedding as they need included.
Huge fields usually puts 3 horses out on 4/5 acres
Drinks and haylage things (picture included)
Jumps for the hunt there but I can toodle about as I like
Miles of hacking
Road or lane

Didn’t mention it but yard 1 is like gate on the front stables
