Yard 1 small yard. horses can live out. All horses on yard live out . Good big stables when required . Can buy hay and straw from farm reasonably. Good hacking. Liveries help each other . However arena tiny surface usually not useable and no are arena lights.

Yard 2 very big yard 50 plus horses . horses can live out . Only mine and 1 other wpuld tho. Indoor school but always full of kids. Outdoor with lights usually free . Good hacking. However stables really small and more lean to sheds. Slightly more expensive further away than current yard hay and shavings need to be bought from farm and dearer

Part of me wants the facilities as have a youngster but she's happy at yard 1 and I can hire an outdoor.

Can anyone help confused .com

Yard one for me.

Yard 2 increases risk of livery yard dramas/arguments.

Which would your horse prefer?

I would love to move mine for better facilities as only had a crap arena with no lights, but I can't see them as happy and settled at any potential yard I've viewed.

Yard 1 completely OTHER THAN the arena thing, but seeing as you can hire one out I would go with that one if it were me, the fact that it's closer and cheaper makes a big difference too. Is there a field you can school in?
If you really want to do lots of schooling then I can understand using yard 2, plus having no lights during winter makes exercising during the week impossible if you work

Neither for me I'm afraid, but depends on your priorities, I work during day and compete year round so need arena with lights do id go with yard 2 until something better came up but then I prefer my horse in at night and would cope with a big yard me on the other hand don't.

These 2 are my only choice as I like my horses to have the option to live out. These are only 2 yards that offer this .

If you can ride during the day then definitely yard 1 as you can school on hacks and hire the school when necessary. But if, like me, you can only ride in the evenings on weekdays then it would have to be yard 2.

Yard 1. Decent stables are a must (to me anyway) Plus, ''Indoor school but always full of kids'', maybe I'm just old but this does not sound appealing at all :)
