Yard 1:
£20 per week
30x50 school- full set of showjumps
24/7 turnout in the summer
smallish outdoor stables
out every other day in the winter
£13 per week for (adlib hay ie, 2 haynets at night)
Shavings only- £3 or £5 per bag
hacking is not very good, have to go on a 50mph road before can get anywhere
no gate leads on the main road so if horse got free :-X

Yard 2:
Really tidy yard
stables are open and they can see their neighbours
£18 per week
Larger than normal school- sand and rubber
IN at night in the summer
out for a few hours only in winter (whilst mucking out)
straw £2.25 a bale
allowed to buy my own haylege
small yard
is bothered by weaving (in case they copy ::)), but I have stables round the back so won't be an issue
has parties and do fancy dress- they had a rodeo bull last summer at the yard ;D
hacking is FABULOUS- no roads
stables a decent size and as I said can see the neighbours
out in a herd
very secure, every single gate is padlocked

neither want to help particularly with turnout etc, and both are a similar distance away.

I am not happy about the lack of turnout on either of the yards.

Yard two would be my choice - turnout in winter is often overrated, the land is poached or frozen, as long as horses get out for a legstretch and you have somewhere to work them I wouldn't get too worried about restricted turnout

Yard two :) I recently moved from a yard with 24/7 turnout (summer), turned out during day but not at night in the winter, old barn stables (I had a wall half fall down once when my horse was in it), a large indoor and outdoor (but crap surfaces though), could use yard haylage (it was crap) or buy own in, shavings 6.50, good quite country roads for hacking ... TO ... Super clean, great barn stables, great haylage, shavings £6, only allowed a max of 4hrs turnout during day in summer (other liveries get peved off if you leave them out all day), no winter turnout, 2 very large jumping arenas with full sets of jumps, another small warm up arena (about 25x50 maybe), there is a 50mph road we cross to get to a public park thinky (but were not allowed around the off road parts) and we have to go over a motorway bridge to get to the other field or hack round the lakes. I do miss the other yard but it was the arena sufaces which was the deal breaker for me, so I think it depends on what your willing to lose for something better.

I'd say yard 2, but yes keep looking and give yourself as much choice as possible. Its always a hard decision which yard to move to and you want to try and be certain.
Good luck!! :)
