Thinking yellow isn't standing out as much in the summer months
so toying with pink or orange (or mix of all 3 would be perfect - but cant find)

what colours do you all wear in summer?

thanks in advance

All of them! I think it's recommended to mix them up to increase visibility - either yellow/pink or yellow/orange. V-bandz sell some combination hi viz items :)

Years ago when I lived in West Sussex. I was driving along the A27 dual carriageway near Arundel. This part of the dual carriageway had a wide grassy/bushy central reservation. This was very useful for riders crossing that very busy road. This particular morning was bright and sunny with excellent visibility. Up ahead in the distance (must have been at least half a mile) I noticed a bright red spot in the central reservation. This red spot stood out very clearly. As I got closer and closer, I discovered it was the rider's scarlet hat silk! I couldn't see anything else from a distance but this bright red. So for noticeability, perhaps the brightest red you can find? Agree that the yellows and greens are not so good in summer - the pinks and oranges stand out far more.

I have a yellow and also an orange flourescent gilet. I've never really thought too much about colours, but to me the yellow stand out most when you compare them to pink and orange, in my eyes anyway!

Think if I could choose a colour again it would be orange. I don't think yellow stands out so well either in bright sunlight. Trainline workers (whatever they are really called) wear orange so it is obviously more visible for them when working on the tracks.

Mines pinky orange colour but pretty dirty! It came off ebay and wasn't dear either from memory. I agree about yellow.

Orange definately no 1 for visibility anywhere.

Yellow or pink, depends on location and weather etc.

Pink only works if it is clean and bright, its no good with a dirty old tabard as you might as well have a pale pink tee-shirt on. Its also the most 'un-visible' in dusk/fog etc.

Best places to collect up hi viz (if not internet) is builders merchants - then get your plaiting thread onto it to make a dart or so, to fit a bit better :)

Edited to add: I was out in a pair of scarlet breeches this morning, with my (clashing!) pink hi-viz on, dog walkers said I stood out like a beacon :D
Shame the dog walkers are all in 'country cammo' gear tho, as cannot spot them at a distance in the heather by trees....

I've always heard yellow and orange is the best - apparently pink doesn't show up so well from a distance when it's dark/grey/foggy?
I wear a mix of yellow and orange and plenty of reflective strips as well :)

Just bought mixed yellow and orange vests off ebay, avoiding the equestrian section. They also have long armed ones, so grabbed a couple of those.

And pockets. They have lots of pockets!

ORANGE umpteen mountain bikers in the woods, just looking ten feet in front of them (for their safety) they say they catch the orange in the edge of their view quicker/better than any other colour, the yellow gets a bit lost in bright sun and rape field background, the pink doesnt seem to have a good impact in any area , orange is in my opinion the best allround colour to pick, definatly go to a builders merchants, bigger selection and cheaper prices.

They use orange on the railway. It does have reflective strips on it, but its the orange colour that catches your eye in daylight. I'll have a look see if I can dig out the photos I have from a day I spent on track. It was incredibly bright and noticeable!

I've bought some amazing combi hi vis from vbandz the ear muffs and the tail guard. The ear covers are tremendously bright. At least with a mixed hi vis it's more years round, although to be honest if it's that dark or foggy I don't go out.

I have an equafleece and an Aldi gilet although for my shame I've mislaid both and wear an old work hi vis tabard so I look like a scruff bag.
