Hi,
we have rescued a german shepard, we have now had her for a year and we rehomed her at 8months. we have come to the end of our patience with her she consistently whines and cries all day! we put it down to an anxiety behaviour problem, she is particularly bad at food time, walk time. we take her out separately from our other dog, but she will persistently cry even when we r present, left alone she is better. Its a though she doesnt realise she is doing it however, we can not put up with it any more, if any one has any ideas it would be much appreciated!
Thanks

It probably is an anxiety thing as you say but best not to try any remedy without getting advice from a behaviourist as you risk losing your cool and giving up on her if it doesn't work and you could make the behaviour worse too.

have you tried your local vet sometimes they have classes for problem dogs. rescue remedy. my collie went through a phase of barking in the night just for the fun of it, i squirted him with water as i dont like hitting animals. eventually it stopped. good luck, stick with it its a challenge and it i would say was possibly left a lot as a puppy to be like this. or is she is any pain??

jan fennell's book on dog training
basically teaches you about the pack and how to convince your dog that you are the leader in a kind way so she doesn't feel she has to 'look after you' anymore
she's crying as thinks you are her baby and is worrying about you
get the book though
good luck

She sounds like a very unhappy little dog. I agree with OOTP - contact a behaviourist and see what they advise.

Does she wee when greeting you after an absence of any period of time??
