its one of the common ridings, i would be doing it if abby was fitter. ha ha i kno tonnes of people in that vid!!!! meant to be a really good ride out!!

The girl on the bay and the guy on the grey with the sashes on at the fording of the river are mates of mine. It's a maniac ride! I did it a couple of times but the ground was too rabbit holey and rough, I'm too cotton woollish with my girls for that now! All to do with the townsmen riding the Burgh boundaries to fend off English Invasion!

That's a clever video as it's edited out the fallers - which were into double figures last year! It is a manic ride with between 80 and 100 riders - I did it about 9 years ago with my old TB ex-racer - huge mistake... I wouldn't now take one of my horses anywhere near it. Many of the principals rely too much on their hip flasks ...

But it is a magnificent sight. Anyone who wants to see it this year - it's this coming Saturday.
