Just wondered if anyone had ever come across a cross between a whippet and a dalmatian ... my favourite two dog breeds?

Saw a STUFFED one at Alnwick Castle last week. Strange (stuffed dogs are VERY strange) but also quite endearing, and I wondered what a cross would be like in real life.

Or any other bizarre combinations?

Met a GSD X Whippet other day, sorry but these crosses arnt for me and just a way for people to make more money out of X bred dogs

We have a dalmation cross japanese akita, or a dalkita as we call her!! She is a rescue dog and never imagined another like her existed but messing on youtube we came across another identical one!!
A friend has a cockerpoo ( cocker spaniel cross toy poodle that is a sweet little thing)

This is my sister-in-law's dog, Crow. We're thinking JRT x Dachshund (a Jackhund, maybe, or a Darrier), although my SIL has bought a canine DNA test, so we'll know for sure soon enough.

Crow was rescued, along with her mother, plus seven pups, from the side of a road in Georgia. At ten months, she weighs 25lbs.

I have also met several Boston Terriers mixed with fuzzies--terriers or Shih Tzus--and they are CUTE. Would never buy one, but this this little girl on Petfinder has been keeping an eye on me for a while...

Hi, is this the one from a litter my friend bred?

my brother in laws mothers bichon friese (sp) went a-wondering to next doors yorkshire terrier. produced 5 of the yappiest, funny looking pups ever!!

I met a Leonberger/Chow in the USA - I actually had to go and ask the guy because me and Mum were having a fight on the street.
I guessed Leonberger because of the head/colour and she thought it was a GSD cross.

Victory!

I've got a lurcher...

sire was a working sheepdog crossed with a working beardie (as far from the show beardie as the working cocker is from the show cocker - actually further, I think there weren't any working beardies in the make-up of the original show beardie) and her dam was a coursing greyhound.

makes a pretty good hybrid, I'd say (she's the one on the left. The one on the right is a straight working beardie x greyhound)

Is that what they call a David Hancock lurcher? I remember reading about him a few years ago, he did a lot of bearded collie x greyhound type lurchers?

Totally agree. Nothing makes me more angry than 'designer breeding' £800 upwards for a mongrel? Ridiculous!

Our patterdale keeps trying to rape our Rottie.
He can't reach but if she lies down for him...god forbid...... and he does manage it we decided they'd have to be called .... Rotterdales!!! Might look a little odd though!!

Cut his nads off then.

The little monkey! I remember seeing in the paper a little dog that had managed to mate with a much bigger dog (actually think it was a rottie) and they're little pups were v.weird

Poor William.... he would be most upset!! He is our stud dog....

The little big man has a litter of 9 6week old pups at home, and is a very very proud daddy. We also have his daughter from the last litter, although she is in season at the mo so we are keeping him well away from her... no naughty business going to happen there!!
tongue.gif

Our border terrier is quite persistent with the Rottie too but he's safe even though he's entire he shoots blanks...... bless him, a case of bladder stones rendered him infertile, he's great as a teaser / tester stud tho!!

The one on the left is a Hancock lurcher - 14.5 years old and still bright and active. She's going to be very hard to replace

the one on the left isn't a Hancock dog, but his beardie/greyhounds would look much the same. He's got a new-ish beardie stud which has a good temperament (which sets it apart from a fair few of the current working beardie strains, but I don't like the set of its hocks)

There are all sorts of strange crosses and people pay rediculus (sp) amounts for some of them. I would rather go pick a dog from a dog shelter unless i wanted a specific breed that i couldn't find in a shelter, but each to their own Not seen many strange crossbreeds, only the labradoodle (lab/poodle).
