Go on the KC website, find the section on breeds, click on whippet, at the bottom of the page is the Secretary for the breed club and their phone number - give them a ring and they'll point you in the right direction

I will be looking for a whippet pup in spring. Anyone know of anyone planning a well bred litter KC registered around south west area?
Thanks!

Nooooooo! Don't do it!!!! They are nutters and your bed will never be your own again!!!!! (We have 2...I love them really but they are serious loons that love attention!!!)
I have a gorgeous fawn bitch who is 3 and bit weeks in whelp to a lovely male. Both very well bred and KC reg, father has been shown and done very well. pm if you want more details
Thanks for replies!
I wanted a pup rather than a rescue as will fit in better with my other dogs. I have a ridgeback who is also a bed hogger and a loon! So whippet should fit in just fine....
I dont blame you for wanting a pub, you have a much better chance of training. My girl is five months old and proving a little more difficult stubon than any other dog I have ever had. Totally my fault as she is spoilt and gets picked up and cuddled on demand, she took over my house from the day I bought her and I have never looked back. They melt your heart and have such wonderful characters.
Please folks dont tell me off for spoiling, this dog has given me so much, after spliting with my husband she has been the best thing that has ever happened to me.
My other dog, a rotti, adores her and lets her bite, pull, chew, so Megan is as bad as me with little Mindy.

Sorry to hijack but are wippets safe with small furries? I kind of always associate them with greyhounds and assume they can't be housed with cats?

Not necessarily...Whippets can be fine with small furries, as can greyhounds, lurchers, or any other sighthound....it just depends at what point in their life you aquire them, (whether they've been raced, coursed or whatever can
have a definite bearing), or simply whether or not your chosen dog has a high prey drive. There are no set boundaries, just history, common sense and judgement.....many a racing/coursing grey/lurcher has been homed with cats.... similarly, many can't. The same goes for whippets.
Bringing a whippet puppy into a home with cats is less likely to be problematic, as the pup will grow up with the cat(s)....this doesn't mean that once grown, the dog won't chase a strange cat in the street.
