My whippet has recently started yelping for no apparent reason when she's sitting down. She first did it last night when she was lying on they sofa and has done it several times today. im not to sure why she's doing it because neither of my parents or me have seen her twist it or the other dog push her over. she has also been really quiet around the house and on walks which is really unlike her so i was wondering if any of you have experienced this as im not to sure what to do?
thanks for reading!

My fella damaged his lumbosacral and had a course of anti-inflammatories which cleared it up in no time so I would pop her to the vets to be on the safe side. He was doing biiiig loooong stretches and was mad keen to have his croup scratched (still is

It could have been when he jumped off the top of the A-frame but the vet says it is just as likely he twisted in mid air going for his ball or hooning with his sister, you never know what scrapes dogs get into when we're not looking.

Fingers crossed she has just tweaked something.

sorry to sound dumb but whats a lumbrosacral? im just a little bit worried cos she's laying on the sofa now and keeps curling up and crying which is so unlike her. the other dog is also looking worried about her

I would maybe go for possible tail injury....how is he/she when straining for a pooh? either way u need to go to the vet, but may be worth monitoring him/her in the garden for urine and faecal out put , your vet will ask you if the dog can urinate and defecate without any issues, so best to be armed with some info

could be back as suggested, either way the vet will have a prod and a feel

I'd also say try the vets first as it may just as easily be an internal pain. Does she squeal if you touch her anywhere in particular? If it is back pain i found McTimoney very good with my dog. She hurt herself playing tug of war and took to walking up stairs backwards as it was more comfortable. Had her treated and she was bouncing up and down the stairs like a puppy within 24 hours!
