Whips

Does anyone know of any stockists / online etc, that sell good strong riding whips and crops?

Had a look on ebay and they seem to be the really flimsy typeI used to use as a child when first started riding.

Im after a good stong riding crop, no silly stars or whatever on the end, and a decent schooling whip.

Both mine are by Jerries and are pretty sturdy, one jumping, one schooling - didnt get them online though sadly

have you tried your local saddlery?

Thanks, Yes I have, unfortunately they only seem to cater for the glitter/star/pink sparkly gang LOL

The Derby House one, is it quite strong?
I love the leather but the whip looks a bit thin? Looks very elegant though, posh enough for shows! Quite long too which is good.

That premier equine one looks very sturdy and strong, nice and chunky too.

I just dont like those naf plastic type ones.

I dont want to sound like a horse beater but my horse responds beter to one sturdy smack than a bee sting whip which is what the flimsy ones seems to do.

Yes it is quite strong. It isn't that thin when you meet the whip in person, It's just the right size and theres no nobbly bit seperating the grip part from the rest of the whip which is ace

I was thinking more a fiver but that whip looks nice enough to use for all occasions.....justifies very expensive whip.......do they last?

....once again justifies price LOL....might aswell have one good one than 3 crap ones!

I have a fab black one!! Its thick and Beau has trodden on it numerous times and its never snapped!

It also looks scary - well OH was scared when I threatened to swack him with it

Anyone know where to get a decent lunge whip? They all seem so light and flimsy these days!
