Right - might be selling my boy so could I have your thoughts please....

12 yr old (1998) grey holstein gelding 16.3hh, Zangershiede bred and branded.

Currently BSJA registered & competing BN/Discovery (Has about £75 on card). Not the most careful horse, but never stops.
Qualified Trailblazers Novice dressage, works at Elementary at home, but I am no dressage rider! (he would affiliate with a bit of work on precision as has lovely paces), goes in snaffle or a double.
Previously evented to Novice level (not for a few years, average record).
XC probably his forte, bold as brass - loves it.

Well mannered hunter, will gallop all day & will stand still when required
Lovely boy to box, clip, shoe, handle. No vices but he does like the company of other horses & will fret if turned out alone.

Hacks well in company, will go first or last, doesn't race
He will hack alone but very insecure & takes a strong confident rider to send him forwards
*NOT novice ride * (due to above point, plus can be opinionated occasionally and he is a BIG strong horse)

*Has Sarcoids* One on sheath area & a few on stomach. Having some treatment at present so most will be gone when/if he goes up for sale, but he IS liable to get more. I imagine these will affect his value quite a lot.

Pictures (not the greatest, but you get the idea)
Thank you!

OK never like going first on these things, so hope I'm not well out!! Would say around 6K without sarcoids but possibly 4 1/2-5K with???????????

Honestly I'm no expert in pricing!!!!

Hmm, nice horse. As I was reading through I initially thought about £6k as he sounds like a good schoolmaster for a confident person. Then I read he's a bit difficult to ride out on his own so thought more like £5k and then I read the bit about sarcoids and now think probably only £3k to £4k - sorry! Has he hunted though as looks like a nice hunter type & I believe good ones fetch decent money. So basically not much idea but a nice looking horse. (I would like to put smileys here but can't work out how to do it!!)

thanks guys
Dixie - I was thinking about £3,000 to be honest so you are not far off!

Is frustrating as he is so *almost* a schoolmaster, yet I can never sell him as such.
Life is never simple!

i think hes absolutely beautiful, but speaking as someone who has lost a horse due to sarcoids and currently has one with sarcoids, I would say that they will put a lot of people off and knock lots off his value.

ut he is absolutely stunning I must say, its such a shame :(

oooh what a lovely boy! But I'm afraid to say I wouldn't buy a horse with sarcoids so for that reason I really wouldn't have a clue what to value him at. Without I would have said around 4k
