Yes Dan is still currently sound and got to stage of work where we had two short canters during our schooling session.

He is up to about 25mins of schooling work now. Unfortunetly have to limit his hacking as 1) he is an idiot to hack so can only go out in company and 2) it actually is a lot of concussion which can aggrevate his navicular so the fitness program is taking longer than it normally would.

He is on a new joint supplement (cheap and cheerful surprisingly!) which seems to be making a difference and he is out at night and in during the day so out for much longer.

But yeah working soft and round in walk and trot and slowly building up muscle! May end up a dressageable loanable horse still rather than just permantly broken

yep but just waiting for what is going to go wrong next!!!!

its been about 3 years since he has been consistently sound now if not verging on 4!!!!!

just want a sound enough happy horse who hopefully will still be able to potter round a dressage arena to stop him getting bored. afterall he is only 13

Oh thats fantastic I hope he continues sound! I know all about lamness and the frustrations of not being able to ride etc....and I hate that feeling when you are looking for lamness and hoping for soundness.

What joint supplement are you using?

Err can't remember name off top of head but its from Mole Valley in a gold tub and costs about £15 for a tub which lasts 2 months apparently! it is Glucasomine (or however it is spelt) based. Couldn't really afford the New Market Joint supplement at the mo so thought would give something else a go and he definetly seems happier to point housemate would class him as a sound horse rather than his more common classification of 'sound enough' when worked.
