Amteur racing basically.
All horse have to qualify by hunting a certain number of times. Then each hunt usually organises one poinbt to point a year. There are a number of races all over chase fences usually about 3 miles.
In the old days it used to be a race from one point to another hence its name - i.e. from the chuch to the school over whatever was in the way banks, hedges timber etc.

Thanks- i thought it was something along those lines- sounds like it would be great to watch- no idea were the nearest would be to me though!
